Day 8 #16DaysOfActivism

Welcome to Day 8 of #16DaysOfActivism from across the Parallel Lives Network.

Interview with Ashy Gosai, Domestic Abuse Case Worker at the Zinthiya Trust in Leicester.

The Zinthiya trust provides one-to-one empowerment support to survivors of domestic abuse and those struggling with issues caused by historic abuse. They can help individuals create a life in which they are safe, independent, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them and their children.

The caseworkers are all trained to listen, empathise and recognise the emotional impact it can have on individuals.

My thanks to Ashy for this filmed interview. I was also lucky enough to speak with another Case Worker, Shirin Ali…..I will transcribe that audio interview and post further insight into their work.

The Zinthiya Trust is committed to ending domestic abuse in all its forms, which include:
  • Sexual abuse
  • Family member abuse
  • Honour-based violence (HBV)
  • Forced marriage
  • Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
